Lehmann non-committal on Sangakkara's return

HYDERABAD: Deccan Chargers' coach Darren Lehmann was non-committal when asked if they would have to make do without KumarSangakkara

As per the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) directive the Lankan players are to return home by May 5 in order to prepare for their tour of England and that could mean a premature end to the campaign of several Sri Lankans in IPL 4.

Asked for his reaction on the eve of Chargers' home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday, Lehmann said: "We'll see what happens. Obviously, we would love to have Sanga for as long as we can, but it's up to the BCCI and SLC and ICC to work it out."

RCB skipper Daniel Vettori also has a Sri Lankan in his team, Tillakaratne Dilshan. "It was the first thing I heard this morning. We haven't any plans. He is an important player for us - his batting and he is a very important fielder. More often he bowls four overs. It is not too many people of that there. He will be tough to replace. We are not thinking of any replacement at this stage. We have not got the bowling options that Dilshan has got. He is obviously experienced. He will be a loss if he leaves," said Vettori.
