Sri Lanka news website office set on fire

Jan 31, Colombo: An unidentified group in the wee hours of Monday has broken in and set fire to the office of a Sri Lankan news website 'Lanka-e-News' located in a suburb of capital Colombo.
According to a brief posted on the website, the office located in Daham Mawatha, Malabe, has been set on fire around 2:00 a.m. by a group of unknown personnel who had broken into the premises.
"By now everything that was inside the building has been destroyed," the brief news item said.
The Sinhala language website says it has come under various threats and attacks since the presidential election January 2010 for its support for common opposition candidate former Army commander Sarath Fonseka.
Prageeth Eknaligoda, a journalist and a cartoonist of the Lanka-e-News website went missing without a trace just days before the presidential election last year.
