Shangri-La in H’tota

article_imageHong Kong based Shangri-La hotels has looked at two sites, including one close to the second international airport being built in Hambantota, to construct its second proposed hotel, Deputy Minister for Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena told News Now.lk.
The Deputy Minister said that a Shangri-La team who is currently in the island has also examined a land close to the Yala national park.

The international hotel chain will select one of the two sites and begin constructing its second hotel after the completion of its first project in Colombo.

The Hong Kong group is expected to purchase 10 acres of land for its second proposed hotel, Deputy Minister Abeywardena said.

The hotel group is expected to start work in three months on its first hotel in Sri Lanka, on recently acquired state land close to the popular Galle Face Green in Colombo.

"Shangri-La plans to start work on their second hotel after the completion of its Colombo project. They are expected to purchase 10 acres of land to construct the hotel," Deputy Minister Abeywardene said. (News Now.lk) The Island
