Some porn ‘actors’ outed did not know they were filmed......

The Police Child Protection Bureau (PCPB) is to identify local youths who willingly appeared in porn sites by exposing their pictures in the media.
They hope to locate owners of such sites who rope in gullible males and females to appear in the nude and semi nude for photographs while destroying their futures, having posted such photos on the internet.
The PCPB has gathered around 400 photos of Sri Lankan males and females who have appeared in porn sites, and it has been revealed that some of these photos have been taken while the persons were unaware of them being shot in compromising situations. Those photos have been taken through the windowpanes of bathrooms and bedrooms it has now been revealed.
Meanwhile, there have also been a significant number of men and women who have appeared in the nude willingly, a spokesperson for the PCPB said.
PCPB has now decided to publicize 83 of those photographs in the media. The Ministry of Justice has given the green light to publish these photographs.
Fort Chief Magistrate, Lanka Jayaratne has given permission to carry out measures in order to bust the operation. The court order was obtained on November 4 and bust photographs of 83 people appearing on porn sites will be released to the media in a bid to seek public assistance to identify the culprits. This is also not the first time where the busts of local porn stars have been released to the media.
Nearly three years ago too 18 photographs were published. The police crimes division was able to identify several female ‘porn stars’ on that occasion.
PCPB has been able to gather these photos from 847 porn web sites, which could be accessed through cellular phones. The photos that are to be released to the media have been obtained from 180 porn sites.
Cellular phones
It was from last May that the PCPB decided to ban porn sites, which could be accessed through the cellular phones.
This course of action stemmed after the president was petitioned by Sunil Gamage an official of an NGO in Narahenpita that works for the betterment of children.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the PCPB told this newspaper that there were already over a million porn sites, which anyone could access through the internet.
Though such sites could be blocked, he noted that the response from the relevant authorities to carry out that task has been lukewarm.
He stated that it was in this context that the PCPB was compelled to seek legal intervention.
It was also revealed that the TRC was lukewarm in its response to block these sites After the initial ban subsequently 107 such porn sites were banned by the PCPB, and at the time of writing, they have been successful in banning 847 porn sites in total so far.
