Warm Welcome for DNA MPs in Australia

Parliamentarians Messrs Anura Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga were on a tour in Australia recently on the invitation of the Australian Branch of ‘Campaign for Democracy’.
 
altThey had the opportunity to have discussions with one of the largest Trade Unions in Australia. They have discussed with its National President, Paul Bastian and State Secretary Mr Tim Ayers.
 
A meeting of NWS Australian Trade Union Leaders and Labour Council Members was also held during this tour. Messrs Dissanayake and Ranatunga have explained the present situation in Sri Lanka at these meeting.  Mr Arjuna Ranatunga has expressed his hope depending on the                co-operation of NWS Trade Union to safeguard the democracy in Sri Lanka for the sake of the future generation.  Mr Ranatunga has explicated his entering into politics and his obligation being an opposition Member of Parliament.      
 
Elucidating his views Mr Anura Dissanayake has enlightened them on the anti democratic, illegal operations widespread in the country and the detestable nepotism currently prevailing and that they are functioning against these. He also stated that the present dictatorial rule is in an attempt to destroy the national harmonization and their mission is to assemble the progressive masses against this. Mr Dissanayake also stated that they hope to get the support of progressive forces of all parts of the world..   
 
Mr Mark Lenon, Secretary of NSW Trade Union also expressed his views at this meeting.
