The Sri Lanka Team is capable of lifting the World Cup this time if they approach the game with true team spirit said Most Ven Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter when Sri Lanka batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan called on him at the Asgiriya Viharaya and received his blessings yesterday.
The prelate said he would invoke blessings on the entire Sri Lankan team to enable it win the World Cup for the second time, this year. Tillakaratne Dilshan said in reply that the team had recorded a winning spree in recent times in the run up to the World Cup and the whole team had the moral strength to overcome all odds and win the trophy this time.
He said the tournament being played in Asian venues was another favourable factor for the Sri Lankan team.
