Don’t sweat it out

Stress is the trash of modern life - we all generate it but if you don’t dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life - Danzae Pace

Some methods to avoid stress

Stress can sometimes overwhelm teenagers
Using time management techniques: Student life is all about learning. It is not a mere learning but it is learning how to achieve a balance between studies and other activities. If you want to do well at school, you have to devote time to your studies. Although there are no easy ways to go about this, it helps to plan in advance and schedule time for study.
Organization techniques: There will be a number of things you will need to file, such as notes, assignments, submission dates and examination times. Keep a calendar or a notebook or whatever method works for you but keep organized. Know what you have to do and when, so you don’t get behind at schoolwork.
Create a study environment: Ideally, you should choose a place that is quiet and free from distractions. Some students prefer to study on bed which must be avoided because you will tend to fall asleep even if you do not feel sleepy. A desk with good lighting works well for most people.
If you have trouble getting in the mood, try dividing the task into small chunks and rewarding yourself after each is complete.

Memorizing techniques: These can help you remember parts of your work that would otherwise be forgotten as soon as you did something else. Revising and reading over the previous class notes and assignments for five minutes before you start work every day can also help you remember.
Be an optimist: Do not let the little failures get you down. There will always be a time when you are not able to do too well on a particular test, or find yourself unable to be as good at one thing as you are at another. Recognize these as a necessary part of life and try not to make a big deal out of them. If you are cheerful, you will naturally feel better and less stressed.
Sleep well: This is important, as many students today think they can get away with sleeping less. While this may be alright for one night, as a regular schedule it disturbs your health and sleep cycle. You will find it harder to concentrate and end up feeling more frustrated and stressed out about schoolwork.
Study techniques: The conventional method of study may not work as well for you. If you remember and understand things better by experiments rather than reading about them in books, you should do these as much as possible. Remember, there is no one ‘correct’ way of studying.

Some methods to avoid stress

It is obvious that students are faced with a number of stress factors, both in school and outside, even at home. It has been suggested that teenage, especially when they are preparing for GCE O-L and A-L is the worst possible time for students to be pushed into activities like academics. This period though very important, can be boring.
“I hate school, I’m not going back!” is a statement made by many students in some part of their school life. Usually this feeling does not last long. But what happens if you feel this way too much? School is a place where you cannot avoid daily attending because it is a fact of life, and getting an education can help you build the kind of future life you want. Therefore School is a place which you cannot avoid attending for.
If a student does not like school, the first step is to finding out why he or she does not like it. The student might not like school because the class teacher is bothering him or her excessively. Some teachers pressure even students in the age range of seven to eight, ordering them to bring certain requirements.
The students who are not able to bring the items on the following day do not like to go to school. This is not the end of the story. Parents without realizing their predicament press them to go to school. As a result, these students have to undergo unnecessary stress.
Sometimes it is a problem with the student’s schoolwork. Maybe the work is too easy and he or she gets bored. Or maybe it is too hard, or he or she does not feel as smart as other kids. Reading may be difficult for them, but they are expected to do a lot of it. They may be getting farther and farther behind, and it may seem like they will never catch up. Maybe they are dealing with worries, stress or problems that make it hard to concentrate.
Every day teachers assign homework, expecting students to drop everything they had planned and do their homework once they get home. Ninety percent of kids at schools miss at least one or more assignment per month, some a lot more.
Teachers should talk about what assignments they are planning to give beforehand. Most of the time teachers give out homework in every class not even caring whether could be completed in one night.
It is difficult to remember what was learned just the other week because school trains only short term memory to pass a test. DN
