Today January 25 is the 13th anniversary of the LTTE bomb attack on the Sri Dalada Maligawa.
Sixteen people died and extensive damage was caused to the Sri Dalada Maligawa 13 years ago when LTTE terrorists drove an explosive laden lorry and crashed on to the main gate of the Maligawa around 6 am on January 25, 1998.
Three terrorists involved in the attack were sentenced to death by the Kandy High Court and one of them died of a heart attack in his prison cell.
